Conscious Driving Campaign

We are starting a "Conscious Driving Campaign" which is aimed at helping people to understand and use defensive driving techniques and to have an awareness of everything around them and their vehicle at all times. Naturally there is an added emphasis regarding wildlife by giving them the opportunity to fly or run out of the road.

We will soon have keyrings to buy in our shop to put on your car keys so you always have someone to talk to if you find something on the road or need advice if you do unfortunately hit something while driving as we do know that sometimes this is sadly unavoidable.

We just ask people to stop ( if it is safe to do so ) and check because sometimes an animal is simply knocked unconscious and although looks dead on closer inspection would still be breathing and may be saved not just run over by the next person as with the moorhen we found that you can see on our wildlife recue page..

You can buy fold away cardboard pet carriers at your local vets and get some disposable or thick gloves and a old towel as well as the phone number of your local wildlife hospital or vet and put them in the car just in case you come across anything that needs you this way you will always be able to help

.Even if you don't have pets why not put your local vets or wildlife hospital phone number on your mobile just in case you need it in an emergency.
