*    Green living   *

Everyone can be conscious of "Green Living", whether it is just recycling and buying animal and environmentally friendly products or turning your home into an eco-friendly household,- It is up to you - but every little helps !

There are lots of great books, web sites and groups, with lots of knowledge and tips who want to help you get started. Go to the library or search on the internet to find infomation on eco friendly alternatives to some of the normal brands you buy in your weekly shop.

Here are just a few ideas.

  • Buy food from local producers
  • Grow your own veg
  • Don't use pesticides or herbicides
  • Purchase food loose to avoid packaging
  • Use energy saving bulbs
  • Turn down the central heating
  • Turn off lights in empty rooms
  • Compost kitchen and garden waste
  • Walk when you can and enjoy the environment !
  • Only use outside light when you need them
  • Tell others what you are doing and why
  • Think where your food comes from and use alternatives to meat if you can
  • Recycle anything that you can
