Please help us to say no to plastic bags

You might like to think about this ?
Every year, it is estimated that supermarkets give away 17 billion plastic carrier bags  --  BUT where do they all go ???
Carrier bags and food packaging are a significant cause of pollution which we can all see around us, but there are very simple ways to make a difference. In some countries plastic carriers are already banned and this is probably going to spread across the world as people realise the real consequences.
Some of the tips here are easy to do and will really help !
  • Buy a cotton carrier bag and use this instead of plastic
  • If you must use plastic carriers, then re-use them
  • Use cardboard boxes which are often available and can be easier too !
  • Select or request paper bags whenever possible.
  • Check out the packaging on food and other items - choose items with less packaging
  • Remember that that you are not obliged to put supermarket fruit and veg into a plastic bag !
